Bent Valves Causing Water Leak???
by: Justin

Why is there water coming out of the tailpipe? I don't understand how a bent valve could cause that. Also, it runs fine when I first crank it. After it warms up, that is when the problems start. My check engine light turned off for some reason but failed to come back on after the symptoms started again after it warmed up.

Steve Says,

It is normal for some amount of condensation (water) to come out of the tailpipe. If there is a lot of water then you are probably looking at a head gasket problem. It might be leaking coolant into the cylinders. Usually when this happens it will also overheat, but you said it was not overheating so you might have a leaking intake manifold or gasket or even a cracked cylinder head. It is even possible that if the valves are indeed bent that they have caused the cylinder head to crack. This is unlikely but possible. The fact that it runs fine when you first crank it does not really mean anything if you have coolant and oil coming out of your tailpipe. This means that there are most likely some major internal problems.

I hope this has helped.
