Independent thinking 1994 Dodge Dakota. by: Matthew P.
I too, have a 1994 Dodge Dakota that would stall on the road, start back up, or just would choose not to start after sitting for a while. I troubleshot the typical culprits, ECM, Hall-Effect sensor, Fuel Pump, Ignition Switch. These can all be good, but if you're not getting the power where needed, you're not going anywhere. My truck cranked, had fuel pressure, but no spark. Everything else checked out ok, with a known good ECU, and coil.
I found the problem to be a corroded wiring harness splice near the power distribution center, on the drivers side of the engine compartment. Pull the harness apart and verify that there are no corroded splices in the factory wiring harness. Fixed this, and I've had no repeat issues for the last 9 years.

I put a new fuel pump in about a month ago. I have had the truck looked at by a local garage and they checked the fuel pressure. I checked for error codes by turning the key off/on 3 times and it just flashes 5-5 meaning no codes.
