1994 Toyota Corolla, Won't Start

by Brianna

She is my baby!!

My 1994 Toyota Corolla V.4 engine won't start. After filling up on gas one day, I took a sharp left turn and the engine stalled. I hit the gas to accelerate, but the car didn't go forward; instead, it slowed down as I was hitting the gas pedal. I pulled over and my CEL, oil and battery lights came on. I turned the car off and had a friend look at it. He said it could be my fuel filter or pump since it was cold that day and the filters should be changed periodically.

Steve Says,

Thanks for using my website. The most likely cause of your problem is your fuel pump. When your car is running the fuel pump gets warm. If you have an old pump that is getting worn out then when you put the fresh cold gas in the tank it hits the warm fuel pump and the metal case contracts and causes the pump to seize up.

You probably need a new fuel pump. You should also replace your fuel filter if you have not done it in a while.

I hope this has helped.
