I'm having a similar problem except in cold weather. When the car is started first thing in the morning it runs very rough and the check engine light flashes until the car is warmed up. Took it to the mechanic and he put a new "thermo" valve on. Does not seem to have helped at all. We also have a slow oil leak that is new. Could the oil leak be part of a bad intake manifold gasket?

About the coolant..the level seems to be constant in the radiator.
