Intermittin Random Electrical Problem
by: Tonia

New problem on 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9L V8. Intermitting random electrical problems - when I start truck gages are slow to register. Oct 2010, a kind gentleman jumped my truck off but he switched the pos and neg cables, replaced battery and alternator. then AC would not get cold and back lights did not work, replaced fuse then it all worked. then battery dead again (replace) it worked fine. 3 months later water pump broke, bad alternator and alternator fuse link blew. Fuse lid says 140 Amp fuse but it only had a 40 amp fuse. fixed all. work good 2 days then truck did not want to start in morning lasted 3 days then fine. 1 week later while driving battery gauge jumped up to max, I turned truck off and back on all was good. three days later I start truck after lunch and gas gage shows empty and after truck idling about 2 minutes the guage kicks in and gas light goes off. Any ideas? could it be the 40 amp fuse or wrong size alternator, voltage regulator??? help please

2002 Dodge Durango
by: Amy

I have a 2002 Durango & had the same types of problems. I too checked fuses etc. Ended up at the dealership & $500.00 later with a new Body Control Module, everything is good as new!
