2002 Chevy Avalanche 1500, Parking Brakes

My parking brake goes to the floor but will not hold the vehicle.

Steve Says,

There are several things that might be causing your problem. The first is that your parking brake shoes might be worn out or they could be misadjusted.

There could be a problem with the parking brake cable. It could be broken or could have come unhooked somewhere. If you want to check this you can get under your vehicle and find the cable and check to see if it is loose.

These are the most common things that could be causing your problem. It should not cost a lot of money to have this repaired.

I hope this has helped and good luck with your parking brake problem.
