2002 Chevy Avalanche, A/C Stops Cooling Sometimes

2002 Chevy Avalanche 5.3L. The AC cools while driving. When I stop at a red light SOMETIMES it stops cooling. I read somewhere that this is the fan or clutch or something. I would really like some strong advice here. Thank you in advance.
