I am currently having troubles with my Nissan Sentra. It's died on the interstate, while idling on a hill, while slowly reversing, pulling into a parking lot. It has also been hesitant to start sometimes, when it is like that, I have to give it some gas and it will start. Seems like the best way to save it from dying too, is to give it more gas. I've had the car since February and have not had problems until about July. A temp sensor is out or the gauge is not working right and says my car is always hot so I believe that the check engine light is on because of this... and I'm not sure this and the car dying are related. However I have also discovered that after I turn off my car and take of the gas tank cap I can hear air being released as soon as a take off... Could this be a clogged vent? Someone also mentioned that some caps also have vents and it may not be working properly? Any suggestions?
That's just another sentra problem. my 01 gxe sentra did the same thing. just cut off while driving. wouldn't start give it a while then start. nissan took care of it. don't think it was a warranty issue just another problem that nissan had with these sentras they fixed no charge. that was in 07 and i bought mine new in 01 so i know warranty was up. but again no charge they know what problems they've had with the sentras i had 4 factory recalls in the first 2 years of owning the car.

I had the same problem for my 2002 gxe in 2007 (one more before the the warranty expired). They told me they had to replace the main computer which was covered by warranty. Good luck

i too have a 2002 sentra. the problem i am experiencing seems to be the same. i wanted to add more info. my vehicle will die out at times. at idle once in a while, though mostly on acceleration. the rpm gauge will drop to 0 briefly then resume back to normal as if the key was shut off. note all other gauges are not effected. there is not a check eng. lite on. so there is not any information to retrieve. my vehicle history, i had to have the PCM replaced 2 years ago for a no start problem. i replaced the head gasket. other than that its been a good car.
