most of time the idle will be relearned by ecu.if car will not correct its self clean the throttle body/idle air control motor with carb clean.

the computer, is compensating for dirty throtal body replacing the battery clears all the learned values. solution clean the throtal body with good carb spray cleaner

When changing the battery it is so easy to knock a vacumn hose off. This will effect the idle adversly and should be checked as a first order of business.

try cleaning the thottle body.the thottle plate will not return to fully closed due to buildup & the ecm will not see a closed thottle as it did when it was new.
