Pump
by: Krutch

Thanks sir!

Seems the pressure is there when the car has been running for a short while, then it drops. Filled the tank and the problem goes away, not 100% but the car was able to cream a Polo TDi badly last night, only slight hesistation at high RPM.

I'm thinking it's the fuel pump - with what you said and a few others have suggested. With a full tank the pump is completely submerged and stays cool and works, under 3/4 tank it starts to warm up with less fuel on it and then doesn't work.

I will be replacing the pump with a Walbro pump in the next few days, I hope that sorts the problem, but I will update as to what happens.

Thanks for your help!
