2003 Pontiac Grand Prix, A/C Only Works on High

by Jim
(Kansas, USA)

My A/C blower will only work on high/5. If I start the car and turn the ac on low/1-2-3-4 the blower does not work and the head lights will go out, if I turn it up to high/5 the lights come back on and the blower blows cold air. Any ideas what the problem could be?

Steve Says,

Typically when the blower only works on high it is because the blower motor resistor is faulty. The fist thing I would do is have it checked or replaced and see if your lights are still not working right. There are not too many other things that this could be, but it might be a wiring problem or a problem with the AC controls or control module.

I hope this has helped. Please post the fix when you find out what it is.
