This morning, the "check engine" light went out. I went to the auto repair garage & explained the situation to the fellow there. He believes the problem is the gas cap, but there wasn't any testing done. He did say that although my car is a 2004, the gas cap can be considered "old" & the caps are made of aluminum which has a tendency to break down after a while. I purchased the new gas cap, so will wait to see if the engine light comes on again.
