2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer, Stopped Running

I was driving home and the vehicle just quit. It just stopped running. Pulled it to the side. When I tried to start it it doesn't turn over. It has gas and all fluids are at the proper levels. The battery is good and has connection to where it still operates all the lights and accessories. When I turn on the ignition key I can hear the faint sound the fuel pump and nothing else. It doesn't click like it would be engaging the starter. What would cause this engine to die like this?

Steve Says,

There are quite a few things that might be causing your problem but the first thing I would do is have your electrical system checked out. Sometimes a bad alternator can stop charging your battery and cause this kind of problem. Even though the battery has enough voltage to turn things on it might not have enough to start the car. Most auto parts stores will test your electrical system for free. You can also check your battery cable connections and terminals. If they are corroded or loose it can cause this type of problem. There are other things that it could be but that is the most likely.

I hope this has helped.
