Thanks

I just want to say thanks Steve. Its not that the brakes aren't working it's that when I go to brake it makes a weird noise. It only does it once in a while. It does seem to be the traction control system it just started when we got the snow here. After I was trying to go up a hill with ice on it I had to go somewhere in the crappy weather, that's when it started. I have taken it to a mechanic but they said it was the harness going bad, but they told me it would be $117 plus labor and if they find anything else it would be extra. I don't know what to do. Should I take it somewhere else and have them look at it for me? When I was sliding on the hill could I have shaken something loose? I am just worried because I have a 4 month old baby that I have in that car. I don't want something to happen with her in it. I just want to say thanks again for you're help.

Even though you have taken it to a mechanic and they said it was the wiring harness I highly recommend that you take it to have a second opinion. This problem does not sound like a wiring harness problem to me. Harness problems are very rare. In my opinion you would be better off taking it to a different mechanic shop to have them diagnose it.

It does sound like there is probably a problem with the traction control system on your car. I'm guessing that the reason this problem started now is because it is the first time that this system has been activated. Since you were sliding on a hill it probably activated the system and the computer noticed that there was a problem in the traction control system. This is just my guess from the information that I have. Again, I think your car is probably OK to drive like it is for a while, but you should have it diagnosed and repaired as soon as possible since the traction control system is not working correctly. Thanks again for your question and I'm glad I could help!
