What to do About a Fraud Complaint.

So, you've been ripped off! What can you do about your fraud complaint? Well you could ask a lawyer right now using the blue box below.

Click the play button on the video below to see what happened to one college student and what her options are according to a lawyer.

Well, the first thing to try is going back to the place that you feel ripped you off. It is always best to try to work it out with the business/person who caused the problem. Make sure you have your facts straight and make sure you are right about what you are accusing them of. The first person to go to is the person that did the work, then the manager of the department, then the general manager. If no one at the business will help, then you should go to their corporate headquarters if they have one (this is especially for franchises and chain stores). These companies have departments that are set up to deal with problems like this and many times will be more willing to work with you as they are usually bigger picture thinkers.

If none of this helps then it is time to seek outside help. The first place to go is to your states attorney generals office. Usually if they get enough complaints about a particular business they will prosecute them.

The next step is to go to the Better Business Bureau. While they cannot do very much if the business is not registered with them, there are several things they can do if they are registered. This includes arbitration, penalties and possibly revoking their membership.

If you are still not satisfied then you can always take your case to small claims court. The key to doing this is to DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. Make sure you have the repair order with everything filled out including dates, names, the repairs done, the amount charged, etc. The more documented proof the better your case will be. If you want to ask a lawyer you can do it right here. Just enter your information into the blue box below

Leave what to do about a fraud complaint and go back to fraud.
