Monro muffler ripoff

Monro Muffler & Brakes

I took my car into one of your Monro Muffler dealers in Wysox, PA on Saturday May 15, 2010 to have a bad brake rotor replaced or serviced. I stopped back about an hour later to get an estimate, and found the back wheels off. I didn't want a thing done to the back wheels. I still don't know why they had them off. All I wanted is the rotor fixed. They lied like hell to me, telling me, I had to have two new brake calipers on the front of my car. The worthless mechanic informed me that my brakes were not releasing properly. I drive the car 400 miles every weekend, at 65 miles an hour. I asked them, why the car wasn't pulling to the side, and why the brakes were not getting red hot. I was told, it depends on how bad they were dragging. The truth is, they weren't dragging, I didn't need new calipers. They were very insistent on selling me new brake calipers.
I am a licensed aircraft mechanic by the federal government, and I have worked as a professional mechanic on aircraft and helicopters for twenty five years. At present, I work on 40 million dollar helicopter in Delaware. I know, I did not need new brake calipers. To top it off the bastards charged me $186.99 for a pair of calipers, which I can go to any auto store, and get them for under $40.00 a pair. There in nothing wrong with a person wanting to make a profit, but this is nothing more than fraud and lying. They are thieves. The mechanic didn't seem to know anything, nor did the person running the place. They insisted I had to have new calipers. I went back again about twenty minutes later, and I asked them not to replace the caliper. But they did anyway.

However: they did find a small leak in the gas line which I had them fix. I all so asked them to change the fuel filter, they never did. However it was on the bill. On my way to Delaware, I heard something dragging on the ground. It was the fuel line they supposedly fixed. They did a bad job of tri-wrapping it to the frame of the car.
I am very unhappy as to how I was treated at Monro Muffler. I was lied too, defrauded, had my intellect insulted, and treated badly. If it had not been on a Saturday, and I didn't need the car to get to work on Monday, I would have told them to go to hell, and took the care elsewhere.
I feel I am entitled to full refund for cost of the fuel filter, brake calipers, and their installation. I have full intentions of perusing this matter until it is resolved, even if I have to go to small claims court, or make a You Tube Video concerning this matter. I will never take another car to Monro Muffler, and I will discourage anyone else from going there too.
A copy of this letter is being sent to the Monro Muffler website, and the Monro dealer where I had the work done, and I got ripped off. A copy of this letter will also be kept on file for future reference if needed.

Sincerely yours
