P&T Auto & Truck Repair
2062 Richmond Road
Staten Island, NY 10305
August 13, 2010
Mr. Peter Schiro

On July 29, 2010, I took my car to your garage for servicing on the transmission shift cable which was previously replaced by your garage. The car would not shift into park and after a manual diagnosis, on that date I was told that it was not the cable.

I was not satisfied with the diagnosis by your garage so I went to another garage for a second opinion. They diagnosed the problem as the transmission shift cable. The cable can not be purchased through an auto parts store because it is not a dealer item. I went to Manfredi Dodge to order the cable which cost $92.49. I picked up the cable from Manfredi Dodge on August 1, 2010 and the cable was installed on September 20, 2010 by the garage that diagnosed the problem correctly. The cost of installation of the cable was $231.36. Since the cable was installed, there has not been an issue with the shifter. I asked the garage to return the transmission cable that was taken out of the car. I went back to Manfredi Dodge to see if there was a way to identify the cable to see if it was the original or a replacement cable. The cable had an identification number on it as follows: 04593215AJ98702795. The cable was confirmed by Manfredi Dodge that it was the original manufactured installed in the car. Conformation was made by the VIN of the automobile through Dodges computer database. I have enclosed the invoices as proof. The total cost is $323.85.
